08/06/06 - Intertwined Rings
While tinkering with some shapes and lights that have volume
(cast rays), I started to get a pretty cool looking image going.
I like the way this one turned out and I hope you do too.

07/12/06 - Marble Box
I've been trying to get the hang of light refracting through things.
Glass, plastic, what ever. I think I have the marbles looking really
good, but the plastic box isn't quite right on the corners.
This is modeled after a little toy that I keep sitting on my
desk at work. It is pretty close but the corners... Mmmm...

07/01/06 - Nail Polish
I would like to dedicate this one to my wife Tammy and my neice Dana who loves to
tell me that aunt Tammy put nail pretties on her fingers. I still don't like the
way the glass bottle is coming out but I learned to stick a label on glass and it
is getting better. I'll try some more glass containers later.

07/01/06 - Cube Bite
This one is really just an experiment with light and shadow. The cube has several
bites or scoops taken out of it to make an interesting shape with even more interesting
shadows. It is an all white scene although it looks gray because of the lighting
conditions. Interesting. I like it.

06/30/06 - Marbles
I have done marbles before. Back in 2004 I first did them. These are the same
basic scene. I changed the floor to white to give better color and then I only
adjusted the lighting. I was amazed to find what a difference the proper lighting
can make to a scene. More realistic light makes for a more realistic image.

06/16/06 - Dishes
I am working the full set of dishes from our cabinet. Pulling them out one
at a time and modeling them. Here are a couple plates and a soup bowl.

06/06/06 - My Teddy
No, not the lacy undies that women ware! A teddy bear. The fur effect is
a bit harder than I had thought it would be. Getting it just right is a little
tricky. But it is a lot of fun to play with. Monsters Inc. watch out... NOT!

05/31/06 - Thermal Cups
After making the coffee cups, I thought it would be nice to try some thermal
cups. The brushed aluminum was harder to simulate than I expected. After a bit
of work I got the cap looking pretty good too. The main picture you see here
is my second render. The first exist as a larger image also, but the scene just
looked a little bla so I re-rendered with a slign camera angle change and added
a back splash. Much nicer now.

05/29/06 - Coffee Cups
I like this one. A friend got me going on a tutorial that showed me the trick
of connecting the handle to the cup. I used what I learned while playing with
the battery and some previous things to get the art onto the cup and make the
tile counter top look nice. Not quite photo realistic, but getting there.

05/28/06 - Battery
Just playing with scale and reflection and adding text to objects.
I managed to figure out how to apply the art (text and lines) to the
batteries without replacing the entire wrapper with a drawing. The
non-blue parts are from an image file, the blue/silver is from the
object attributes. It took a couple trys and ended up having nothing
to do with the Lightwave program. I just wasn't saving the transparent
portion of the image correctly in Paint Shop Pro. Lesson learned!

05/26/06 - Fuzz Ball
Well, it's been a while since my last flirt with 3D art so while tinkering
I started playing with fir. This isn't anything really special but it looked
cute so I decided to keep it. Tammy says this is me when I had hair... Oh My!
